HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 23-91RESOLUTION NO. 23-91 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD EXTENDING RESOLUTION NO. 10-89 SETTING SALARIES AND RELATED BENEFITS FOR OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE GENERAL SUPERVISORY UNIT, THE POLICE SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT UNITS; AND ADOPTING CITY SCHEDULE OF PAID HOLIDAYS FOR TRESE UNITS AND ALSO THE FIRE SUPERVISORY UNIT. WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Bakersfield, Section 12, authorizes the City Council to provide for salaries and related benefits for officers and employees of the City; and WHEREAS, the Council has not for employees in the Management Unit, the Police Supervisory Unit; and concluded its negotiations the General Supervisory Unit, WHEREAS, it is anticipated that such negotiations will not be concluded before the next paid scheduled holiday. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: 1. That Resolution No. 10-89, together with amendatory resolutions, to the extent the same applies to employees in the the Management Unit, the General Supervisory Unit, the Police Supervisory Unit is hereby extended. Exhibit adopted. 2. That the schedule of paid holidays, attached hereto as "A" and incorporated as though fully set forth, is hereby .......... o0o .......... Floating Holiday Credited (to be used by 12-31-91) Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday Presidents Day Memorial Day Floating Holiday Credited (to be used by 6-30-92) Independence Day Labor Day Veterans Day Thanksgiving Day Day after Thanksgiving Christmas Eve (4-hour holiday) Christmas Day New Year's Eve (4-hour holiday) New Year's Day floating holidays Employees shall also receive every day designated by the President, Governor or City Council as special holidays in commemoration or in memorial of an extraordinary occurrence as paid holidays. B) Whenever a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday shall be observed. Whenever a holiday falls on a Saturday, none of the above shall be observed as a holiday. Employees assigned to seven day per week shift schedules shall observe the actual, not the observed holiday.
