BRIEF SUMMARY OF TRAIN{NG PROGRAM2 Employee training has been developed
for the types of hazardous substances used and the co--on hazards assopiated
with them. Employees are required to read the Area S.O.P. and E.O.P. covering
building evacuation, dispensing gasoline, gas pump emergency shut-off switches.
They are instructed .in the location of electrical, natural gas, and propane gas
shut,off controls and their operation. Their training includes the clean-up of
small spills and procedures for notification of responsible agencies in the event of -~
a major spill.

SECTION 6: NOTIFICATION AND EVACUATION PROCEDURES:
A, AGENCY NOTIFICATION PROCEDURES:
In the event of a hazardous material spill, the BakerSfield Fire Department
and police department would be notified. The shift supervisor would notify
the Division Commander.
B, EMPLOYEE NOTIFICATION AND EVACUATION:
Notification would be made to the front desk officer. He WOuld then
notify all on,site personnel to evacuate, using the public address
system. Evacuation routes are posted throughout the building. The
maps direct employees to a safe location at the front of the building.
Employees are accounted for by their supervisors.
C, PUBLIC EVACUATION:
Public evacuation would be coordinated with Bakersfield Police Department
through~our dispatch center. Ail available employees from this office
would be utilized as deemed necessary by the shift supervisor.
D. EMERGENCY MEDICAL PLAN:
The office has an employee protection plan that addresses medical emergencies.
It is posted in seven areas on the site. In the event of a major medical
emergency, our dispatch center will dispatchtambulance and the fire
department. Mercy, Memorial, and Kern Medical Center are all capable of
handling any emergency occurring on this site.

SECTION 7: MITIGATION, PREVENTION AND ABATEMENT PLAN:
A. RELEASE PREVENTION STEPS:
Employees are required to remain with their vehicles during refueling.
Used oil is contained in a metal above-ground, double walled, oil recovery
system that is E.P.A. approved. Motor oil is stored in 55 gallon metal
drums and one quart plastic containers. Anti-freeze is stored in one
gallon plastic containers. Oil and anti-freeze is stored in a metal building.
B. RELEASE CONTAINMENT AND/OR MINIMIZATION:
Employees have been trained to use the emergency shut-off switches in
the event a spill occurs. Caltrans can be contacted for equipment
and material to minimize the spreading of a spill.
C, CLEAN-UP PROCEDURES:
All spills that require clean-up will be handled by qualified companies
'that have contracts with the State of California

WATER: Water shut-off is in the sidewalk, five feet east of the east edge of
'Pierce Road.
