He/she is also thoroughly familiar with this plan, as well as the facility's operations, hazardous materials, and the physical layout of the facility. 17. EVACUATION PROCEDURES Should there be a release or threatened release of a hazardous material which would require evacuation, the following steps will be taken. The senior member of management in charge will verbally notify all occupants of the facility verbally via use of the public address system, intercom, or shouting should it necessary to evacuate. Personnel would evacuate following the designated routes indicated on the site/plot plan to the nearest clearly marked exit, escorting all members of the general public as well. All containers are properly labeled. All above ground storage is on concrete, inside the building to minimize the threat of contamination to soil as well as ground or surface water. Pressurized cylinders, used for welding, are securely stored on a portable cart. Facilities with underground storage tanks, for waste oil, have continuous monitoring systems that will activate both an audible and visual alarm in the event of a release. Those facilities not already so equipped are currently being monitored by tank gauging and annual tank tightness testing. 20. FACILITY TRAINING A) All personnel are trained in the proper handling of on site hazardous materials and use of available protective equipment through the use of training manuals and video presentations supplemented by periodic safety meetings. MSDS are available for all employees to use and review. B) Procedures for emergency notifications, section 19 of this plan, have been reviewed by all members of management. Management will coordinate with and follow directions given by emergency response personnel as needed. C) All personnel have been trained on the location, types, and use of available fire suppression equipment as well · as absorbent to contain or pick up small oil or other spills. D) All employees undergo an initial thirty (30) day training period which is supplemented by periodic training sessions and safety meetings. This is coordinated by the corporate training department and all documented records are maintained by the corporate personnel department. 04/08/91 PEP BOYS MANNY MOE & JACK 215-000-00(I)927 Page 2 Hazr,at Inverstory List irs MCP Order .)~ - Fixed Containers on Site P 1 r~-Ref Nar. e/Hazards Forn~ Quar, t ity MCP 02-006 SULFURIC ACID (BATTERIES) Liquid 175 High Fire, Reactive, In~n~ed Hlth GAL 02-008 CARBURATOR CLEANER Liquid 100 Hi gh Fire~ Delay Hlth GAL 02-007 FUEL ADDITIVE Liquid 100 High Fire~ In~n~ed Hlth, Delay Hlth GAL 02-003 SPRAY PAINT Liquid 339 Moderate Fire~ Pressure~ In~r,~ed Hlth GAL 02-002 ETHYLENE GLYCOL Liquid 1 ~ 296 Low Fire, Delay Hlth GAL 02-010 WASTE oIL Liquid 550 Low Fire~ Delay Hlth GAL 02-001 MOTOR OIL Liquid 3~750 Mir~in~al F re~ Delay Hlth GAL 02-009 MOTOR OIL Liquid 400 Minimal F re~ Delay Hlth GAL .)~-(.)(.)4 OIL ADDITIVE Liquid 89 Mir, inca 1 F re~ Delay Hlth GAL 02-005 R- 2 DICHLORODIFLUOROMETHANE Gas 1,857 Mini~al F re~ Pressure~ In~n~ed Hlth FT3 General Ir, formation ILocation: 2411 F ST Map: 102 Hazard: Moderate ~ Ident Nun~ber: 215-000-0(')0927 Grid: 25B Area of Vul: o.0 Contact Nan~e Title Business Phone '" Hc, ur ---- ,= 4 l-'h n n e- DAVID DONALDSON (213) 748-5571 x . 213) '745-56i8 Adn~inistrative Data Mail Addrs: 2411 F ST D&B Nun~ber: City: BAKERSEIELD State: CA Zip: 933(:)1- C,_-,n~r,~ Cc, de: 215-001 BAKERSFIELD STATION 0i SIC Code: Owner: PEP BOYS MANNY.
