ARCO Oil and Gas C .pany ~pril 27, 1987 Kern County Health Department Division of Environmental Health 1700 Flower Street Bakersfield, California 9330'5 Gentlemen: On July 10, 1986 ARCO Oil and Gas Company submitted an application to your agency for temporary closure (2 years) of three underground storage tanks located at our former headquarters at 4121 Sou'th H Street, Bakers- field. A response to that application has not been re- ceived to date. Enclosed is another, ap~.lication for temporary closure. The City of Bakersfield, Fire Pre- vention Bureau, is agreeable to a one-year temporary closure of these tanks. By submittal of this application, ARCO requests approv- al for temporary closure for a period not to exceed one year. These tanks once stored gasoline,, diesel and solvent. They have been empty since 1984 as a result of our office relocation. If the property on which the tanks are located has not changed ownership, within one year, ARCO intends to permanently abandon the tanks.
