Attention: Janis Lehman
Subject: Soils Report and Logs for (1) Tank Removal at 805 Espee Street,
Bakersfield, CA
Gentlemen:
Submitted herewith are the soil contamination results and loggings that:we
performed on the removal of (1) 2,000 gallon gasoline tank and associated
product lines on March 5, 1987 for Whitten Excavation.
Samples of soil for analysis of contamination were taken below the tank and
product lines at depths of 2'-0" and 6'-0". Each sample was put in a glass
container and taken to B. C. Laboratories, Inc. for testing.
As shown on the contamination test results, there is no evidence of contamination
in any of the test holes. ~
The soil logs, a drawing showing the tank and test hole locations and test
results for contamination are attached.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Due to the soils type and level of contamination found at the-site, we conclude
that the site should be backfilled and compacted to 90% of the Maximum Dry
Density in accordance with ASTM D-1557, in 8" layers.
