A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING TH~ OFFICIAL LIST OF
DESIGNATED SPECIAL SPEED ZONES, PURSUANT
TO SECTION 10.24.020 OF THE BAKERSFIELD
MUNICIPAL CODE.
WHEHEAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant
to Section 10.24.020 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code, desires to
enact prima facie speed limits on portions of roadways within the
City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, said prima facie speed limits are enacted pursu-
ant to the provisions of the California Vehicle Code; and
WHEREAS, said prima facie speed limits are being estab-
lished for a street in the City of Bakersfield, after a traffic
engineering survey was conducted; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
Under provisions of Section 10.24.020 of the Bakersfield
Municipal Code, the prima facie speed limits for the following
streets, or portion thereof, are hereby determined and declared to
be as shown below, and shall be included in the official City
"List of Speed Zones":
a)
'~" Street, from
Chester Lane, to
per hour;
California Avenue to
be thirty-five (35) miles
b) Akers Road, from Panama Lane to Harris Road,
to be forty (40) miles per hour;
c) Akers Road, from Milo Avenue to Pacheco Road,
to be forty (40) miles per hour;
d) Akers Road, from Planz Road to Ming Avenue,
to be forty-five (45) miles per hour;
e)
Belle Terrace, from New Stine Road to Stine Road,
to be forty-five (45) miles per hour;
f)
Brundage Lane, from Lakeview Avenue to
Oswell Street, to be fifty (50) miles per hour;
g)
Flower Street, from Beale Avenue to Owens Street,
to be thirty-five (35) miles per hour;

h) "H" Street, from Panama Lane to Pacheco Road,
to be forty-five (45) miles per hour;
i) Kirkside Drive, from Weyburn Way to Cypress Point
Drive, to be thirty-five (35) miles per hour;
Lennox Avenue, from Hewlett Street to California
Avenue, to be thirty-five (35) miles per hour;
k) Mt. Vernon Avenue, from Columbus Street to
Panorama Drive, to be forty (40) miles per hour;
Oswell Street, from Pico Avenue to Auburn Street,
to be thirty-five (35) miles per hour;
m) Panorama Drive, from Fairfax Road to Juniper
Ridge Road, to be forty-five (45) miles per hour;
n) Unio~ Avenue, from 21st Street to Niles Street,
to be forty (40) miles per hour;

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
