AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION
2.28.090 OF THE BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL
CODE RELATING TO BOARD OF ZONING
ADJUSTMENT
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 2.28.090 is hereby amended to read as follows:
2.28.090 - Board of zoning adjustment - Created - Membership - Terms - Vacancies
- Alternates -- Removal
A. There is created a board of zoning adjustment of the city, which shall consist of the
Building Director, the Public Works Director and the Economic Development Director.
B. An alternate shall participate and vote in the place of any member who is absent or
disqualified for an economic interest in a matter before the board of zoning adjustment.
C. The alternate for the Building Director shall be the Assistant Building Director. The
alternate for the Public Works Director shall be the Assistant Public Works Director. The
alternate for the Economic Development Director shall be the Community Development
Coordinator or the Principal Planner assigned to Economic Development in the Economic
and Community Development Department. If the Community Development Coordinator
has not been appointed the alternate and if there is more than one Principal Planner
assigned to Economic Development in the Economic and Development Department, the
Ci~anager shall designate the alternate.
D. Members of the board of zoning adjustment and alternates serve until they no longer
hold the position making them a board member or alternate or until the make-up of the
board is changed by ordinance.
SECTION 2.
This Ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the provisions of the Bakersfield
Municipal Code and shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after the date of its
passage.
