A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT
REHABILITATION OF THE HEATING,
VENTILATING AND AIR CONDITIONING
(HVAC) SYSTEM AT BAKERSFIELD CITY HALL
CANNOT BE REASONABLY OBTAINED
THROUGH THE USUAL BIDDING PROCEDURES
AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR
TO DISPENSE WITH BIDDING THEREFOR, NOT
TO EXCEED $315,000.
WHEREAS, CITY has previously rehabilitated a portion of the existing HVAC
system with TRANE equipment; and
WHEREAS, City currently has employees who are trained in the functioning
and maintenance of the TRANE equipment; and
WHEREAS, rehabilitating the existing HVAC system with TRANE equipment is
compatible with the previous rehabilitation project and will minimize inventory; and
WHEREAS, TRANE has presented the CITY with an acceptable proposal to
perform the remaining rehabilitation of the existing HVAC system; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to purchase TRANE HVAC systems because of the
necessity to successfully integrate such equipment into the existing system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
follows:
1, The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by
reference.
2, The work, supplies, eauipment or materials can onty be reasonably
obtained from one vendor because of the need to successfully integrate such
work, supplies, equipment or materials into an existing City project or system.
3, The Finance Director is authorized to dispense with bidding in
accordance with Section 3.20.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code.
4. The expenditure of funds for said work, supplies, equipment or material
shall not exceed Three Hundred and Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($315,000.).
