A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD SUPPORTING THE ~ AGRICULTURAL
FOUNDATION.
WHEI~EAS, The Kern Agricultural Foundation has launched
a fund raising drive to raise funds for the construction of a
multi-purpose facility known as the Kern Agricultural Pavilion;
and
WHEREAS, such facility will consist of a central
meeting room to be used for board meetings and classes; a 4,000
square foot room to ibe used for conferences, dinners, seminars
and other business and related functions; a telecommunications
facility equipped to receive, display and, or record programs and
symposiums from the University of California at Davis
telecommunications center, and California State University
Bakersfield; a sixty-three hundred square foot outdoor covered
area; a outdoor courtyard and BBQ area which will provide a
social setting for outdoor events; and
WHEREAS, the Council believes this facility will be a
great asset to the community and will bring increased revenues to
the City of Bakersfield through the hosting of meetings,
seminars, demonstrations, exhibitions, etc.; and
WHEREAS, this facility will promote the attraction of
new industry to locate here by demonstrating that we are a well
organized, forward thinking community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
The Council of the City of Bakersfield supports the
fund raising drive to raise funds for the construction of the
Kern Agricultural Center; and contributes $10,000 to assist in
the construction of the facility.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the Citv of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on $£P 27 ~Sg , by the
