RESOLUTION NO. 168-89
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF THE
EASTERLY FOUR FEET OF INYO STREET BETWEEN
EAST CALIFORNIA AVENUE AND ALPINE STREET
IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, on Wednesday, August 9, 1989, the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the "Public
Streets, Highways and Service Easements Vacation Law," being
Chapter 3 of Part 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code
of the State of California, passed and adopted its Resolution of
Intention No. 1066 declaring its intention to order the vacation
of the easterly four feet of Inyo Street between East California
Avenue and Alpine Street in the City of Bakersfield, County of
Kern, State of California; and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hearing
all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation,
which said hearing was held on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 1989, and
continued to SEPTEMBER 27, 1989, after notices were duly published
and posted as required by law; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
l. That the vacation of the easterly four feet of Inyo
Street between East California Avenue and Alpine Street in the
City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, more
particularly described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a
part hereof, is unnecessary for present or prospective street or
easement purposes.
2. That the vacation of the easterly four feet of Inyo
Street between East California Avenue and Alpine Street in the
City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, be and
the same is hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for public
street purposes. Reference to said Resolution of Intention No.
1066 is hereby made for further particulars.
3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this Resolution and, upon receipt of notice from the Public Works
Director that the stated conditions have been met, s~]all cause a
certified copy hereof, attested by the Clerk under the seal of the
City, to be recorded in the Office of the County Recorder of the
County of Kern, CaLifornia.

The easterly four (4) feet: of Inyo Street bounded on the n~rch by the south line of
Alpine Street and bounded on the south by the north:line of (East) California
Avenue as said streets are shown on Map of "Town of Kern" filed April I0, 1893
in Map Book 1, Page 53 in the Office of the Kern County Recorder.
. EXCEPTING that portion lying between the westerly pr~iongation of the north and
south lines of the 20 foot wide alley in Block 245 of said "Town of Kern" Map.
ALSO EXCEPTING that triangular portion described as follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of said 4 foot strip;
T~ENCE N. 73'40'19" W., along said north line, 4.00 feet to the
northwest corner thereof;
THENCE S. 16'20'12" W., along the west line of said strip, 4.00
feet;
T~ENCE N. 61'19'57" E., 5.66 feet to the point of beginning.
ALSO EXCEPTING that portion lying sou:herly of a line described as follows:
Commencing at the southwest corner of said Block 245 (also being on the
east line of Inyo S~reet);
THENCE N. 16°20'12" E., along the west line of said Block, 5..50 feet
to the TRUE POINT OF' BEGINNING;
