A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD APPROVING THE RESULT OF THE
AGENCY SHOP ELECTION AND AUTHORIZING PAYROLL
DEDUCTION FOR THE AGENCY SHOP FROM PAYCHECKS
OF EMPLOYEES IN THE FIRE UNIT AND IN THE
FIRE SUPERVISORY UNIT.
WHEREAS, employees in the City of Bakersfield's Fire
Unit and Fire Supervisory Unit requested an election to determine
whether they should be covered by an Agency Shop; and
WHEREAS, the election was conducted by mail ballot; and
WHEREAS, the majority of those employees voting in these
units cast ballots in favor of an Agency Shop;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
Commencing .September 1, 1989, the Fire Unit and the Fire
Supervisory Unit shall become an Agency Shop, and employees in these
Units shall either join the recognized Employee Union or pay the
fair share representative fee.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
meeting thereof held oa September 13, 1989, by the following vote:
