Each tank shall bear a pcrmanent nameplate or marking indicating the standard used as the basis of design, fabrication and construction See Miele 90 for standards." Seelion 5202,2.3 of the Unifonn Fire Codc (1997 Edition) reads as follows: "Tanks, electrical equipment dispenscrs, hoses, nozzles, and submersible pumps used for the storage or dispensing of flammable ;lnd combustible liquids shall be listed, I have enclosed copies of both the Uniform Firc Code and Article 90 Standards. As you can sec. the [SO 9002: [994 is not a recognized standard under the Uniform Fire Code, This was also confIrmed by Mr, Joe Garcia of the Stale Fire Marshall's office. If you can provide certification from the manufacturer that the tank meets a recognizcd standard as listed in Article 90. that would be acceptable, Until sucn time, as we can be provided with a recognized standard, wc cannot approve the permit to operate the aboye ground storage tank.
