SUBJECT: THE DISPOSAL OF WASTE OIL IN THE GUTTER
Dear Resident:
This letter is in reference to a complaint recei ved by this
Department on March 11, 1992. The complaint cites that waste oil
was disposed on the road curb recently by residents of the address
noted above.
A request was made on April 10, 1992, that you contact this office
to discuss this violation of hazardous waste statutes and
regulations. To date this office has not been contacted by you or
your representative.
In accordance with Kern County Ordinance Code G-5541, section
8.04.100 the Department is authorized to charge for inspections,
review of reports, and laboratory service costs incurred in the
process of obtaining compliance with any violations noted. Be
advised that you will be billed at the rate of $80.00 per hour for
time spent to date as well as future oversight costs incurred
during abatement of these violations. It is imperative that you
contact this office at (805) 861-3636 within 48 hours of receipt of
this notice. Failure to comply may result in legal action being
initiated against you.

SUBJEcr: THE DISPOSAL OF WASTE OIL IN THE GUTTER
This letter is in reference to a complaint received by this Department on March 11, 1992.
The complaint cites that waste oil was disposed on the road curb recently by residents of
the address noted above.
This notice is to inform you that used motor oil is a hazardous waste, and it is a violation
of the California Health and Safety Code, Section 25250.5, for waste oil to be disposed of
in the manner described above. As the responsible party for the improper disposal of the
waste oil, you would be responsible for any cleanup that would be required. Enclosed is
a list of facilities that will accept used oil for recycling.
In accordance with Kern County Ordinance Code G-5541, Section 8.04.100, the Department
is authorized to charge for inspections, review of reports, and laboratory service costs
incurred in the process of obtaining compliance with any violations noted. Be advised that
you may be billed at the rate of $65.00 per hour for oversight during abatement of any
violations. Please contact this office within seven (7) days "of receipt of this notice to
