RESOLUTION NO. 135-89
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF A
PORTION OF THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 272 (ALSO
BEING A PORTION OF 17TH PLACE BETWEEN
AND "L" STREETS), IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, on Wednesday, June 14, 1989, the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the "Public
Streets, Highways and Service Easements Vacation Law," being
Chapter 3 of Part 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code
of the State of California, passed and adopted its Resolution of
Intention No. 1065 declaring its intention to order the vacation
of the alley in Block 272 (also being a portion of 17th Place
between "K" and "L" Streets), in the City of Bakersfield, County
of Kern, State of California; and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hearing
all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation,
which said hearing was held on WEDNESDAY, JULY 19, 1989, after
notices were duly published and posted as required by law; and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter,
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. That the vacation of the alley in Block 272 (also
being a portion of 17th Place between "K" and "L" Streets), in the
City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, is
unnecessary for present or prospective street purposes.
2. That the vacation of the alley in Block 272 (also
being a portion of 17th Place between "K" and "L" Streets), in the
City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, be and
the same is hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for public
street purposes, with the reservation of the easement for public
utility and sewer purposes as described in Exhibit "A" of
Resolution of Intention No. 1065. Reference to said Resolution of
Intention No. 1065 is hereby made for further particulars.
3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested
by the Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded in the
Office of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

EXHIBIT "A"
All of the 33 foot wide, east-west alley in Block 272 in the City of
Bakersfield, bounded by the east line of "K" Street and the west line of "L"
Street as said alley, block and streets are shown on MAP OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD filed November 25, 1898 in Book 1 of Maps, Pages 13 and 14 in the
Office of the Kern County Recorder. (Said alley is also known as 17th Place).
RESERVING THEREFROM; an easement for public utilities and public sewer liae
purposes over the south 30 feet of the west 147 feet and the south 21 feet of the
north 24 feet of the remaining easterly 117 feet of abovedescribed alley.
