A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD APPROVING DRUG ABUSE RESISTANCE
EDUCATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE FRUITVALE
SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield desires to enter into an
agreement with the Fruitvale School District to present the pro-
gram known as the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) to
students within the district and to receive compensation for said
service by the D.A.R.E. officers of the Bakersfield Police
Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield that said agreement between the City of Bakersfield
and the Fruitvale School District to have D.A.R.E. officers of the
Bakersfield Police Department present the program known as
D.A.R.E. to the students of said district is hereby approved, and
the Mayor is authorized to execute said Agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the funds received from the
School District for the services rendered by the Bakersfield
Police Department D.A.R.E. officers will be placed into the
321-70100 account of the Bakersfield Police Department.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on _ June 28, 1989 , by
