HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 66-89RESOLUTION NO. 66-89 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 15-84 TO AUTHORIZE PLANNING COMMISSION HEARINGS TO CONSIDER THE METROPOLITAN BAKERSFIELD 2010 GENERAL PLAN TO BEGIN IN MAY. WHEREAS, a comprehensive amendment of the General Plan has been proposed for Metropolitan Bakersfield area; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission desires to begin receiving public testimony on the Metropolitan Bakersfield 2010 General Plan, a comprehensive general plan update in May, 1989; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 65351 of the California Government Code, the Planning Commission of the City of Bakersfield adopted Resolution 13-89 on the twentieth day of April, 1989 recom- mending to the City Council that public hearings on the Metropolitan Bakersfield 2010 General Plan begin in May, 1989. and WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 15-84 setting Planning Commission hearings of General Plan Amendments in March, June, September and December; and WHEREAS, public hearings will be conducted as scheduled dur- ing the month of June for General Plan Amendment applications received and accepted prior to April 17, 1989; and WHEREAS, General Plan Amendment projects in process and requiring environmental impact reports shall be considered as allowed for in their schedule due to their unique setting and envi- ronmental documentation requirements; of NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City Bakersfield as follows: The Planning Commission shall conduct its hearing on proposed amendment to the mandatory elements of the Bakersfield Metropolitan Area General Plan in the months of June, September and December 1989 as provided for in City Council Resolution No. 15-84; The Planning Commission shall open public hearings on the Metropolitan Bakersfield 2010 General Plan in May 1989, and The schedule set forth by this Resolution shall not restrain the Planning Commission from hearing and recommending adoption or amendment of permissive elements of the general plan, from hearing and making recommendations for adoption or amendment pursuant to Section 65361(b) of the Government Code relative to the development of residential units for families of low or moderate income, or amendments required to comply with court decisions pursuant to Section 65754 of the California Government Code. .......... 000 .......... -2- I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on May 17~ 1989 , by the following vote: A'/~B: COU~4CILM£MBERS: ~ OeM~)NU, SMITH, RAT'rY.
