A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD APPROVING THE RESULTS OF THE
AGENCY SHOP ELECTION AND AUTHORIZING PAYROLL
DEDUCTION FOR THE AGENCY SHOP FROM PAYCHECKS
OF EMPLOYEES IN THE BLUE COLLAR UNIT.
WHEREAS, employees in the City of Bakersfield's Blue
Collar Unit requested an election to determine whether they should
be covered by an Agency Shop; and
WHEREAS, the election was held on February 28, 1989; and
WHEREAS, the majority of those employees voting in that
unit cast ballots in favor of an Agency Shop;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
Commencing April 14, 1989, the Blue Collar [3nit shall
become an Agency Shop, and employees in the Unit shall either join
the recognized Employee Union or pay the fair share representative
fee o

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted oy the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on March 29, 1989, by the following
vote:
