A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD NAMING A PRIVATE STREET
"LOUDON STREET" LOCATED EAST OF AKERS
ROAD APPROXIMATELY 1/4-MILE SOUTH OF
HARRIS ROAD IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of
Bakersfield held a public hearing on January 19, 1989, regarding
the application by Klassen Corporation for the naming of a private
street "Loudon Street," located generally east of Akers Road
approximately 1/4-mile south of Harris Road (south of Roy W.
Loudon Elementary School); and
WHEREAS, notice of the time and place of that hearing was
duly given at least ten (10) calendar days before by publication
in the Bakersfield Californian, a local newspaper of general
circulation; and
WHEREAS, the above-described street name designation will
not result in any physical change in the environment and it is
therefore determined that the proposal is not a project as
defined by California Environmental Quality (CEQA) Guidelines
(Section 15378) and it is exempted from the requirements of CEQA.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, at the conclusion of
the above-referenced hearing, adopted its Resolution No. 10-89,
recommending approval of the proposed name described above.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
1. The ak.ove recitals, incorporated herein, are true
and correct.
No property owner appeared at the above-referenced
hearing in opposition to the proposal or submitted
any written opposition.

The proposed street name does not conflict with
other existing street names in the metropolitan
area of the City of Bakersfield.

5. The proposed street name designation is hereby
approved.
The City Clerk is directed to forward a copy of this
resolution to the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Kern as required by Government Code Section 34092.

passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
