Revised 12-23-94
The following information bas been compiled by tbe Hazardous Materials Information office at Wal-Mart. Iffurtber
information is needed, please contact Ricb Gray at 501-273-8025 (fax 501-273-1948).
· The hazardous materials indicated in the tables below are stored at density levels below 2 gal/sq ft for flammable and
combustible liquids and below 10 lbs/sq ft for aerosol products. Our calculations are based on individual module areas.
as listed in the table (per 1991 Uniform Fire Code),
. Stores which contain a Tire & Lube Express division (TLE auto service) will contain extra combustible liquids in bulk
containers, Motor oils and waste oils are contained in steel double-wall bulk tanks. and capacities are included in the
following product categories, In some California stores. waste oil is held in double-wall FRP underground tanks.
. Because of the volume of paper involved, the MSDS for all products in the store have not been included. If you desire
these MSDS, we will be happy to forward them (approx. 18,000 pages),
· No reactive/toxic products are sold or stored unless they are in approved consumer product packaging. Potentially
reactive products such as pooVspa chemicals have been placed away from easily combustible materials,
. Materials/equipment available on-site to contain spills, leaks, and releases of the listed hazardous materials include dry
absorbent materials for liquid spills, common cleaning materials. wet/dry vacuum cleaners, and floor cleaning
equipment.
. Emergency notifications, emergency procedures, evacuation plans, and spill contingency plans are contained in each
store's Risk Management Resource Manual, and are documented separately for Tire & Lube Express in a Spill
Prevention Plan. We can furnish you with a draft copy of this information if you need it.
· The following information is attached:
I, A list of "Hazardous Product Groups", indicating general hazard classifications, quantities. and container
information. All the products listed are in normal consumer product packaging and are intended for resale only.
Products listed are not used within store facilities.
2. Location of each product group is indicated by floor plans for most store prototypes.
3. A "Hazardous Materials Classification Summary Sheet (CA)" presents quantities of hazardous materials by hazard
class, and differentiates between stored products and those that are used within the facility.
.
