AT 5555 SOUTH UNION AVENUE, BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA.

This is to advise you that this Department has reviewed the project
results for the preliminary assessment associated with the closure
of the tank noted above.
Based upon the sample results submitted, this Department is
satisfied that the assessment is complete and no significant soil
contamination has resulted from discharges of gasoline that may
have been stored in the subject tank.
Any future use of the subject tank for storage of cesspool waste
must be approved by Kern County's Liquid Waste Management Program.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

"Dear Mr. Starkey:

You called me a few, days ago in regard to the ,tank that we
removed from the premises at 5555 South Union Avenue, Bakers-
field, California. I checked with Roy Haislip, and we have never
disposed of the tank.
The real property was sold to Jim Napier, who is a waste
hauler. The tank is presently being used on the premises for
temporary storage of cesspool waste. With your consent, we would
like to give the tank to Mr. Napier so that he can continue to
use the tank for ~emporary storage of cesspool pumpings.
Please advise if this meets with your approval.

CONDITIONS AS FOLLOW:
1. It is the responsibility of the Permittee to obtain permits which may
be required by other regulatory agencies prior to beginning work.
2. All sewage residual must be removed from the tank prior to any cleaning
of hazardous waste contaminants.
3. The removed tank must be cleaned and determined if explosive vapors
exists as per UT-30 requirements before removal is allowed to an
approved salvage location.
