AN ORDINANCE AMENDING BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL
CODE SECTION 1.12.010 BY ADDING ANNEXATION NO. 409
TO WARD 1.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield adopted a resolution for Annexation
No. 409 on April 26, 2000, ordering the territory annexed to the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the territory ordered to be ;annexed to the City of Bakers~eld is required to
be within a City Council Ward Boundary; and
WHEREAS, the Council recently completed annexation of the territory to the City of
Bakersfield, the exterior boundaries of which are described in Exhibit "A" for ANNEXATION NO. 409
attached hereto and incorporated as though fully set forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
follows:
Section
All of the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be true and correct.
Section 2,.
Annexation No. 409 shall be included in Ward 1.
Section 3.
Section I. 12.01(I of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is hereby amended to add the legal
description for the First Ward boundary as set forth in Exhibit "C" attached hereto and made a part hereof
by this reference.
Section 4.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the Bakersfield Municipal Code and
shall become effective upon the annexation of the above-described territory to the City of Bakersfield, but
not less than thirty (30) days fi'o~n and after the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed and adopted by the
Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on

ANNEXATION NO. 409
A parcel of land being portions Sections 14 and 23, T.31 S,, R28 E., MD.M, County of
Kern, State of California, more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the Northwest corner of said Section 14, said corner being monumented
and designated by calculated conversion to be 2,274,205. 4256 feet North and
6,278,008.4624 feet East per California Coordinate System (N.A.D. 83) Zone 5;
Thence South along the West line of said Section 14, a distance of 2653.67 feet (more or
less) to the Northwest corner of the Southwest II/4 of said Section 14, said point being on
the existing corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield and is the "TRUE POINT OF
BEGINNING";
Thence (1) Easterly, along the North line of the Southwest 1/4 of said Section !4 to
intersect the West line of the East '~ of the Southwest 1/4 of said Section;
Thence (2)Southerly, along last described West line, to intersect the South line of the
North 20 acres of the East ¼ of the Southwest 1/4 of said Section 14;
Thence (3) Easterly, along last described South line to intersect the East line of the
Southwest 1/4 of said Section 14;
Thence (4) Southerly along last described East line, a distance of 4.80 feet (more or tess)
