agencies prior to beginning work.
2. Pennittee must ll2.tifx the County Environmental Health Department at (805) 861-3636, two working days
prior to tank (removal) or (inerting and filling) to arrange for required inspection(s).

5. Soil Sampling
Any deviation from sample locations and numbers or constituents to be sampled for wlùch are described
below and in Handbook #UT-30 must received prior approval by the Environmental Health DepartIÌ1ent.

This letter is addressing the K Mart ,site at 3600 Wilson Road,
Bakersfield, CA. At the time of the tank removal, soil samples
will be taken as per EPA policy' #SW846 and Kern County #UT30, Page 6.
'Samples will be taken by a third party concern and analyzed for waste
oil as per your regulations. Four (4) samples will be taken as per
'local regulations at 2 'and 6' below the tank. .'
This is a 1,000 gallon waste oil tank with a direct drop fill. As
, stated previously in application, the samples will be taken by the same
firm that does the analyses for oil and grease, 'fOX and lead. Results
will then be forwarded to Kern County.

If levels on results are higher than allowable, K-Mart needs written
notification from Kern County that site characterization work is to be
done. At this time a firm such as Geraghty and Miller will be brought
in for work with RMI assisting in construction and cleanup work.
