'P~E:£ Gasoline Antifreeze Waste Oil t? ftZ.oM WI:- W"u.tœ1 Diesel Solvent Water St1rnt fbl,IC'( ttþotl~ Motor and Hydraulic oils Greases & other lubrlcants · Every hazardous material has what is called a MSDS sheet. This sheet lists the properties, hazards and treatments specific to that material. It is your right and we recommend that you read each sheet associated with the materials you deal with in your work. These sheets are kept in the lockers under the canopy along with the site plans and emergency response plan. We have discussed correct safety and response actions at our safety meetings but you should review these any time you feel necessary. Specifically, the materials you handle all contain approximately the same warnings: (a) Avoid contact with eyes and skin, if contact occurs flush with soap and water. - (b) Avoild inhalation or ingestion. If symptons develop, seek medical attention (c) All materials are explosive or flammable, avoid heat- ing or working near sparks or other sources of flames. (d) Use products only for their intended use. i.e. Do not use gasoline for cleaning. EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN MINOR SPILL In the event of a minor spill of a hazardous material stored or used at this location you are to do the following (a) Contain the spill by diking or capture with existing soil present in our yard. If any material contaminates any personnel, they are to follow procedures from their training program. (b) Cease all spark producing activities on site and pre- vent others from producing any sparks. This includes smoking and the starting of engines or machinery. (c) Notify mapagement so adequate clean up procedures can be implemented. MAJOR SPILL In the event of a major spill, (more than a few gallons or any time the material may leave the property) you are to do the following: (a) Attempt to contain t~e spill by diking or soak up procedures. Also attempt to stop the leak if possible. (b) Call 911 and '1-800-852~7550 to notify them that a re- lease has occurred. (c) Evacuate all personnel from neighboring businesses that may be in danger from an explosion or fire. (d) Follow training procedures for personal evacuation. (e) Avoid all spark producing operations and secure others from doing the same. (f) Notify management for further instructions.
