RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
DETERMINING THAT CERTAIN USED CARS CANNOT BE REASONABLY
OBTAINED THROUGH USUAL BIDDING PROCEDURES AND
AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO DISPENSE WITH
BIDDING THEREFOR, NOT TO EXCEED $27,000.00
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Police Department is in need
of used cars of a variety of makes and models, to be used for
Police surveillance and City business, and
WHEREAS, the Finance Director has determined, and has
recommended that this Council find, that used cars for the Police
Department cannot be reasonably obtained by usual bidding proce-
dures in accordance with Section 3.20.060 B of the Bakersfield
Municipal Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
The Council hereby finds that two used cars cannot be
reasonably obtained through the usual bidding procedure, and
authorizes the Finance Director to dispense with bidding therefor
and to negotiate the purchase of same.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on Noven~ber 9, 1988 by the following
vote:
