A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD AUTHORIZING COLLECTION OF
ASSESSMENTS BY THE KERN COUNTY TAX
COLLECTOR FOR DEMOLITION AND/OR REMOVAL
OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS AND/OR STRUCTURES.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield has
adopted Resolutions No. 11-88 and No. 39-88, attached hereto as
Exhibit "A", confirming the Report of the Building Director
regarding assessments of certain properties in the City of
Bakersfield for demolition of dangerous buildings; and
WHEREAS, Section 909 of the Uniform Code for Abatement of
Dangerous Buildings, 1985 Edition, requires that after confirma-
tion of the report, certified copies of the assessment shall be
given to the Auditot-Controller and the Tax Collector, who shall
add the amount of the assessment to the next regular tax bill
levied against the parcel for municipal purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
1. The above recitals are found to be true and correct.
2. The Tax Collector of the County of Kern, and such
other County officers as may be required, are hereby authorized to
place the above-mentioned assessments on the secured roll of the
County and collect such assessments in the same manner as ad
valorem property taxes, with the exception of the following
assessments, which have been paid:

Director of Finance with instructions to submit same to the Kern

RESOLUTION NO. 11-88
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD CONFIRMING THE REPORT OF THE
BUILDING DIRECTOR REGARDING ASSESSMENTS OF
CERTAIN PROPERTIES IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
FOR DEMOLITION OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS.
WHEREAS, the properties in the City of Bakersfield
described by Assessor Parcel Number and street address in Exhibit
"A", attached hereto and incorporated by this reference herein,
were determined to be dangerous buildings under the Uniform Code
for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1985 Edition; and
WHEREAS, notices and orders of C. A. Bidwell, Building
Director of the City of Bakersfield, as provided in Chapter 4 of
the above-specified Code, were mailed to the record owners of the
aforementioned properties; and
WHEREAS, the properties in question were duly posted as
provided in Chapter 4 of said Code; and
WHEREAS, the demolition of the buildings was paid out of
the City of Bakersfield Community Development Block Grant (Repair
and Demolition) Fund, and Bakersfield Building Department Land and
Land Improvement Fund; and
WHEREAS, this assessment proceeding was duly noticed and
a hearing held on February 17, 1988, in the Council Chambers of
the City of Bakersfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield:
1. That the Report on Assessment for Demolition of
Dangerous Buildings of C. A. Bidwell, Building Director, attached
hereto as Exhibit "A", including the assessments therein set
forth, is hereby confirmed.
2. That the property owners named in said Exhibit "A"
may pay, or cause to be paid, the charges stated therein at the
office of the Finance Department, 1501 Truxtun Avenue,
Bakersfield, California, at any time before 5 o'clock p.m.,
April 18, 1988.
3. That in the event such charges assessed and confirmed
against the individual properties as listed in Exhibit "A" are not
paid within such time, such assessments shall be approximately
recorded on the assessment roll, and said assessment shall consti-
tute a special assessment against and a lien upon the property.

RESOLUTION NO. 39-88
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING RESOLUTION 11-88
CONFIRMING THE REPORT OF THE BUILDING
DIRECTOR REGARDING ASSESSMENTS OF CERTAIN
PROPERTIES IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD FOR
DEMOLITION OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS.
WHEREAS, the Council after public hearing on February 17,
1988, adopted its Resolution No. 11-88, confirming the Report of
the Building Director regarding assessments of certain properties
in the City of Bakersfield for demolition of dangerous buildings,
with the exception of two such assessments which were referred to
the Budget and Finance Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Budget and Finance Committee has reported to
this Council that the concerns of the owners of the two parcels,
assessments for which were deleted from Resolution No. 11-88, have
been satisfactorily addressed, and the assessments for such par-
cels have been re-added to Exhibit "A" attached hereto.
NOW, TEEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
~ ~f Bakersfield that Resolution No. 11-88 is hereby amended by
~evision of Exhibit "A" thereto in accordance with Exhibit "A"
attached hereto, that the Report on Assessment for Demolition of
Dangerous Buildings of C. A. Bidwell, Building Director, attached
hereto as Exhibit "A", including the assessments therein set
forth, is hereby confirmed.
