A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD CALLING THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION FOR THE OFFICE OF MAYOR, PROVIDING
FOR THE CONSOLIDATION OF SAID ELECTION WITH
THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION FOR THE
PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE ELECTORS OF
THE CITY AMENDMENTS TO THE CHARTER OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, AND THE GENERAL
ELECTION TO BE CONDUCTED BY THE COUNTY ON
NOVEMBER 8, 1988.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 20(j) of the Charter of the
City of Bakersfield, the General Municipal Election for the
Office of Mayor of the City of Bakersfield for the full term of
four (4) years shall be held concurrently with the State of
California General Election; and
WHEREAS, the State of California General Election will be
held on November 8, 1988; and
WHEREAS, by separate resolution of the Council, a Special
Municipal Election for the purpose of submitting to the electors
of the City amendments to the Charter of the City of Bakersfield
is also called for November 8, 1988, and it is desired to consoli-
date such election with the General Municipal Election for the
Office of Mayor of the City of Bakersfield and the State of
California General Election.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
1. That the General Municipal Election for the Office
of Mayor of the City of Bakersfield for the full term of four
years is hereby called and will be held on Tuesday, November 8,
1988.
2. That said General Municipal Election for the Office
of Mayor of the City of Bakersfield is hereby ordered consolidated
with the Special Municipal Election for the purpose of submitting
to the electors of the City amendments to the Charter of the City
of Bakersfield and the State of California General Election to be
held on Tuesday, November 8, 1988.
3. That the polls will be open for the purpose of hold-
ing said elections on said November 8, 1988, between the hours of
7:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M.
4. That the list of candidates for the Office of Mayor
of the City of Bakersfield, as the same is to appear on the
ballot, shall be as follows:

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on Julv 27, 1988 , by
