A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT CERTABN
EQUIPMENT, A PORTABLE STAGE, CANNOT BE
REASONABLY OBTAINED THROUGH THE USUAL
BIDDING PROCEDURES, AND AUTHORIDNG THE
FINANCE DIRECTOR TO DISPENSE WITH BIDDING
THEREFOR, NOT TO EXCEED $117,972.19.
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield Recreation and Parks Department is in need of
one (1) 32 foot portable stage to implement the concert series program; and
WHEREAS, said portable stage is specialized and is of a unique size, and therefore,
requires sole source purchasing; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of said portable stage is necessary to allow the concert
serees program to be successfully implemented in the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, only Century Industries offers a unit that meets the size requirements
of the Recreation and Parks Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
1. The above recitals, incorporated herein, are true and correct.
The Council hereby finds that the purchase of one (1) 32 foot portable stage
from a sole source vendor, Century Industries, for the City of Bakersfield
Recreation and Parks Department cannot be reasonably obtained through
the usual bidding procedures because of restricted availability of such
equipment, and authorizes the Finance Director to dispense with bidding
therefore in accordance with Section 3.20.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal
Code.
The expenditure of funds for said equipment shah not exceed One Hundred
Seventeen Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy-Two and 19/100 Dollars
($117,972.19).

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the
Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on AUG 3 0 Z000 ,
