RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE
2000 AERONAUTICS PROGRAM ADOPTED BY THE
CALIFORNIA TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION FOR SLURRY
SEAL IMPROVEMENTS AT THE BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL AIRPORT
WHEREAS, on March 30, 2000, the California Transportation Commission (CTC)
adopted the attached FY 2000-01 project list for the "2000 Aeronautics Program"; and
WHEREAS, this "2000 Aeronautics Pro~am" project list included $85,000 for the
Bakersfield Municipal Airport for slurry seal improvements at the Airport; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation, Aeronautics Program,
requires a resolution certifying the approval of application by the applicant' s governing body
before submission of said application to the Agency; and
WHEREAS, the application contains assurances that the applicant must comply with,
including but not limited to the availability orS10,000 as the local match to the State's $85,000
grant; and
WHEREAS, the project has been found to be categorically exempt from the California
Environmental Quality Act in accordance with Sections 15301 (c) and 15304(b).
WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into an agreement with the State of California to
carry out the slurry seal project at the Bakersfield Municipal Airport;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE Council of the City of Bakersfield:
1. Approves the filing of an application for the California Department of Transportation
Aeronautics Program for grant assistance.
2. Certifies that said applicant has sufficient funds available to fund the required local
match.
3. Finds the project iS categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act
in accordance with Sections 15301(c) and 15304(b).
4. Appoints Raul Rojas, Public Works Director as agent to conduct all negotiations, execute
and submit all documents, including, but not limited to applications, agreements,
amendments, payment requests and so on, which may .be necessary for the completion of

the aforementioned project.
