A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING AGREEMENT NO. 86-116
BETWEEN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AND THE
SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO
ANIMALS (S.P.C.A.).
THIS AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT NO. 86-116 is made and entered
into this 22nd day of June, 1988, by and between the City of
Bakersfield, a municipal corporation, hereinafter referred to as
"City," and the Bakersfield Society for the Prevention of Cruelty
to Animals (S.P.C.A.), hereinafter referred to as "Society."
W I T NE S SETH
WHEREAS, Agreement No. 86-116 by and between the City and
Society appoints Society as the Poundmaster for the City and
authorizes, directs and empowers Society to perform all powers and
duties conferred and imposed upon the Poundmaster (i.e., Health
O'fficer) by Title 6 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the cost to Society of providing the aforemen-
tioned services has increased since the payment schedule was last
set; and
WHEREAS, City desires to continue to obtain the services,
supplies, materials and use of shelter equipment and facilities of
Society in the enforcement and performance of the powers and duties
of the Health Officer of the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, Society desires to continue to render, furnish
and supply its services, supplies, materials and use of its shelter
equipment and facilities in the enforcement and performance of said
powers and duties for the remuneration set forth in Agreement No.
86-116.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
1. City agrees to pay $32,083.00 monthly during the con-
tinued term of said. Agreement, commencing July 1, 1988; and
2. All other terms of Agreement No. 86-116 .shall remain
in full force and effect.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on June 22, 1988 , by the
