A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF $20,000
TO THE SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY
TO ANIMALS.
WHEREAS, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals (hereafter referred to as "S.P.C.A.") has provided animal
control services to the City of Bakersfield for over ten years; and
WHEREAS, the S.P.C.A. has recently expanded its facili-
ties; and
WHEREAS, the S.P.C.A. is now able to provide expanded
services to the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the increment cost incurred to provide these
expanded services is $20,000.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
1. That the above recitals, incorporated herein, are true
and correct; and
2. That the payment to the S.P.C.A. of $20,000.00 from
Council Contingency is hereby authorized.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on June 22, 1988 , by the
