A RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION OF THE
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
AMENDING SECTION 5. OF RESOLUTION
NO. 34-88 PROPOSING PROCEEDINGS FOR
ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD IDENTIFIED AS ANNEXATION
NO. 319 (PANAMA NO. 8 ANNEXATION).
WHEREAS, the Council after public hearing on March 2,
1988, adopted its Resolution No. 34-88, proposing proceedings for
annexation of territory to the City of Bakersfield identified as
Annexation No. 319 (Panama No. 8 Annexation); and
WHEREAS, the reasons recited in Section 5. of said reso-
lution, that owners and residents desire municipal services from
the City and that the City desires tax revenues in return for such
services, are inapplicable to this particular annexation which
includes only City owned property which, after annexation, will be
exempt from real property taxation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield that Section 5. of Resolution No. 34-88 is
hereby amended as follows:
"5. That the reason for the proposed change of organiza-
tion is that the City of Bakersfield, as owner of the affected
territory, desires to have the property converted to tax exempt
status".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk send an exe-
cuted copy of the amended resolution to the Executive Officer of
the Local Agency Formation Commission of Kern County at 1430
Truxtun Avenue, Suite 802, Bakersfield, California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on __ April 13, 1988 __, by
