A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD APPROVING THE DESIGNATION
OF STREET NAMES FOR ROYAL PALMS MOBILE
ESTATES.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Bakers-
field held a public hearing on October 1, 1987, and continued said
hearing to November 5, 1987 and December 17, 1987, on the proposed
designation, notice of the time and place of hearing having been
given at least ten (10) calendar days before said hearing by
publication in the Bakersfield Californian, a local newspaper of
general circulation; and
WHEREAS, the proposed designations include:
The naming of eleven north-south streets and
eleven east-west streets as Camelot Place,
Jewett Avenue, King Arthur Court, Kingman Lane,
Lancelot ]Lane, Prince Street, Q Street, Sabal
Court, Sandbrook Way, Underwood Drive, Woodcrest
Court, 42nd Street, 43rd Street, 44th Street,
45th Street, 46th Street, Clubhouse Drive,
Coconut Way, Crown Avenue, Merlin Way, Quasar
Court, Underwood Court respectively;
and
WHEREAS, the above described designation of street names
will not result in any physical change in the environment and is
categorically exempt under California Environmental Quality Act
Guidelines (Section 15378); and
WHEREAS, the proposal is supported by a majority of park
residents. An August 1987 Planning Department Survey, a straw
poll taken at a November 1987 meeting with residents and public
testimony at the public hearing have indicated that a majority of
park residents favor the proposal; and
WHEREAS, the proposal will improve the efficiency of the
911 Emergency Response System in the area by establishing individ-
ual street addresses which are consistent with patterns for the
rest of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE that the foregoing recitals are
true and correct and the proposed designations are hereby approved
and adopted.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on March 2, 1988 , by
the following vote:
