AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION G. AND H. OF
SECTION 5.50.290 AND ADDING SUBSECTION M. TO
SECTION 5.50.290 OF THE BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL
CODE RELATING TO TAXICABS.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows:
SECTION 1.
Subsection G. of Section 5.50.290 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
5.50.290
Driver's permit -- Application -- Fee -- Age restrictions -- Expiration
-- Renewal -- Change of carrier -- Duplicates.
G. All permits issued pursuant to this chapter shall expire on the last day of
each calendar year following the date of its issuance, unless suspended or revoked as
provided herein.
H. A renewal driver's permit shall be issued by the chief of police to any
permittee who has paid a fee of two dollars for such renewal, if such renewal is prior to the
expiration date of his permit, and who, on the thirty-first day of December last preceding,
had a valid driver's permit.
SECTION 2.
Subsection M. of Section 5.50.290 is hereby added to the Bakersfield Municipal
Code to read as follows:
5.50.290
Driver's permit -- Application -- Fee -- Age restrictions -- Expiration
-- Renewal -- Change of carrier -- Duplicates.
M. Not withstanding subsection G. above, permits issued in 1996, pursuant to
this Chapter, shall expire on March 31, 1997.
SECTION 3.
This Ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the provisions of the Bakersfield
Municipal Code and shall become effective thidy (30) days from and after the date of its
passage.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adoptgdJ2~ the
