A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD DETERMINING THAT CERTAIN CONCHS-
SION STAND EQUIPMENT CAN BE REASONABLY
OBTAINED THROUGH ONLY ONE SOURCE AND AUTHORIZING
THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO DISPENSE WITH BIDDING.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Contract No. 87-121 between the
Cisy of Bakersfield and California Sportservice, Inc., the City
is obligated to purchase certain food and beverage service facil-
ities and equipment, to be utilized by California Sportservice,
Inc., as concessionaire and to be the property of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Auditorium Manager has determined, and has
recommended that this Council find, that such items can reason-
ably be obtained from only one source, California Sportservice,
Inc., because that source can purchase such items for less than
the City would pay were it to go to bid for the purchase of such
items and the source, as concessionaire, requires, and acquires,
such items as a package conforming to i~s operational needs. The
Auditorium Manager further recommends that this Council dispense
with formal bidding for such items in accordance with Section
3.20.060 B. of the Bakersfield Municipal Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of BaKersfield as follows:
The Council hereby finds that food and beverage service
facilities and equipment for use by the Civic Auditorium conces-
sionaire can reasonably be obtained from only one source,
California Sportservice, Inc., and authorizes the Finance
Director to dispense with bidding therefor and to negotiate the
purchase of same from such source.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on July 15, 1987 by
