A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION WITH THE KERN COUNTY
COUNCIL OF GO¥~RNMENTS FOR ALLOCATION OF TRANSPORTATION
DEVELOPMENT ACT FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 1987-88.
WHEREAS, the Transportation Development Act of 1971 provides for the
disbursement of funds from the Local Transportation Fund held in trust by the
Kern County Auditor-Controller for use by eligible claimants for the purpose
authorized by Article 8, Section 99400(a), Streets and Roads, and Article 4,
Section 99260(a), Public Transportation, of said Act; and
~HEREAS, an eligible claimant wishing to receive an allocation from
the Local Transportation Fund must file its application with the Kern County
Council of Governments pursuant to the rules and regulations that have been
adopted by the Secretary of the Business and Transportation Agency of the State
of California in accordance with the provisions of the aforen~ntioned
legislation; and
WHEREAS, funds from the r~cal Transportation Fund will be required to
maintain the street and road system and provide public transportation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
1. That the Public Works Manager is authorized to exec%~te and file an
appropriate claim pursuant to the terms of the Transportation Development Act
of 1971, as amended, and pursuant to applicable rules and regulations promul-
gated thereunder, together with all necessary supporting documents, with the
Kern County Council of Governn~nts for fiscal year 1987-88 Transportation
Development Act monies.

2. That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Kern County
Council of Governments in conjunction with the filing of the claim; and the Kern
County Council of Governments be requested to concur in these findings and grant
the allocation of funds as specified in the Article 8 claim.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted
by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on
the 15th day of July, 1987, by the following vote:
