A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD SUPPORTING NOMINATION OF DAVID
MILAZZO FOR DISTINQUISHED LEADERSHIP AWARD
OF THE CALIFORNIA CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN
PLANNING ASSOCIATION.
WHEREAS, David Milazzo, chairman of the City's
Planning Commission, has been nominated for the distinquished
leadership award to be given by the California Chapter of the
American Planning Association to a non-professional planner/
non-elected official for exemplary contributions to urban and
regional planning and for significant contributions to excellence
in planning; and
WHEREAS, David Milazzo has demonstrated a personal com-
mitment to the excellence of the City's 2010 General Plan and has
provided leadership, both of the Commission and of the community,
toward such goal; and
WHEREAS, David Milazzo's unique ability to blend the
pragmatic and the visionary, and to share the resulting vision,
has contributed to excellence in planning as an everyday occur-
rence during his tenure on the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, David Milazzo has encouraged and facilitated
public input in the planning process as chairman of the City's
Planning Commission, enhancing the Commission's reputation as a
responsive and responsible public body.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
This Council does whole heartedly and without reservation
support the nomination of David Milazzo for the distinquished leader-
ship award described above.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on May 20, 7987 , by
the following vote:
