A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
RESOLUTION IN REGARD TO A REQUEST BY THE LOCAL
AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION TO TAKE LEGISLATIVE
ACTION TO DETERMINE INTENTIONS TO FORTHWITH PROVIDE
SERVICES PROPOSED IN ANNEXATION TO COUNTY SERVICE
AREA NO. 30 AND ANNEXATION NO. 16 ZONE OF BENEFIT NO.
2 (TRACT NO. 4908).
WHEREAS, a proposal for the annexation to a County
Service Area within the City of Bakersfield Sphere of Influence
known as proposed annexation to County Service Area No. 30;
Annexation No. 16 Zone of Benefit No. 2 (Tract No. 4908) has been
filed with the Local Agency Formation Commission pursuant to
Title 5, Division 3., commencing with Section 56000 of the
Government Code, to provide services to the area described in the
formation documents.; and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission has
determined the area involved (generally located at the southwest
corner of Palm Street and Jewetta Avenue) is within the Sphere of
Influence of the City of Bakersfield and has notified the City of
Bakersfield, in writing, pursuant to Section 56841(h) of the
Cortese-Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985, and
Local Agency Formation Commission: Procedures, Standards and
Policies for the Ew~luation of Proposals; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield has established a pol-
icy to provide serw[ces to areas within the Sphere of Influence
upon annexation of such areas to the City of Bakersfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Bakersfield that the Council does not oppose annexation to
said County Service Area for street lighting purposes but opposes
Annexation No. 16, Zone of Benefit No. 2 and declares and represents
that the City of Bakersfield intends to provide the services proposed
to be provided by Annexation No. 16, Zone of Benefit No. 2 upon annex-
ation of that area to the City. This resolution constitutes the
City's response. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a cer-
tified copy of this resolution to the executive office of the Local
Agency Formation Coimmission of the County of Kern.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 25th day of March , 1987 by the
following vote:
