RESOLUTION NO. 39-87
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF PORTIONS
OF "P" STREET AND 16TH STREET ADJACENT TO BLOCKS
307 AND 332 AND THE ALLEYS WITHIN SAID BLOCKS IN
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.

WHEREAS, on February 11, 1987, the Council of the City of
Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the "Public Streets,
Highways and Service Easements Vacation Law," being Chapter 3 of
Part 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State
of California, passed and adopted its Resolution of Intention No.
1020 declaring its intention to order the vacation of Portions of
"P" S~reet and 16th Street adjacent to blocks 307 and 332 and the
alleys within said blocks in the City of Bakersfield, County of
Kern, State of California; and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hearing
all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation,
which said hearing was held on March 11, 1987, after notices were
duly published and posted as required by law; and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter,
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. That portions of "P" S~reet and 16th Street adjacent
to blocks 307 and 332 and the alleys within said blocks in the
City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, more
particularly described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a
part hereof, is unnecessary for present or prospective public
street purposes.
2. That portions of "P" Street and 16th Street adjacent
to blocks 307 and 332 and the alleys within said blocks in the
City of Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby closed up, vacated
and abandoned for public street purposes, subject to and in con-
formity with any reservations and exceptions contained in and
contemplated by said Resolution of Imtention No. 1020 and the
following condition: Abandonment shall not be effective or
recorded until the City obtains actual possession of all properties
fronting on the rights of way to be abandoned. Reference to said
Resolution is hereby made for further particulars.
3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested
by the Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded in the
office of the Countlf Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

All of that portion. of "P" Street (82.5 feet wide) bounded on the north by the
south line of Truxtun Avenue end on the south by the north right of wsy line of
the A.T.&S.F. Railroad (also being the westerly prolongation of the south line
of Block 332) as said street and blocks are shown on MAP OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD filed November 25, 1898 in Book 1 of Maps at Pages 13 and 14 in the
office of the Kern County Recorder.
PARCEL 2
All of that portion of 16th Street (82.5 feet wide) between Blocks 307 and 332
bounded on the west by the east line of "P" Street and on the east by the west
line of "Q" Street as streets and blocks are shown on said MAP OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD.
PARCEL 3
All of that 33 foot wide alley in Block 307 as shown on said MA~= OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD.
PARCEL 4
All of that 33 foot wide alley in Block 332 as shown on said MAP OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD.
Excepting therefrom and reserving as an easement for public utilities the
South 377 feet of said Parcel 1 and the South 65 feet of said Parcel 2.
