A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
RESOLUTION IN REGARD TO A REQUEST BY
THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION TO
TAKE LEGISLATIVE ACTION TO DETERMINE
INTENTIONS TO FORTHWITH PROVIDE SERVICES
PROPOSED IN C.S.A. ANNEXATION TO COUNTY
SERVICE AREA NO. 18 (EXTENSION OF
BOUNDARIES IN ZONE OF BENEFIT NO. 4)
PARCEL MAP 7631, NORTH OF BRUNDAGE LANE
AND EAST OF QUANTICO AVENUE.
WHEREAS, a proposal for the formation of a County Service
Area within the City of Bakersfield Sphere of Influence known as
C.S.A. Annexation to County Area No. 18 (extension of boundaries
in zone of benefit No. 4) Parcel Map 7631, North of Brundage Lane
and East of Quantico Avenue has been filed with the Local Agency
Formation Commission pursuant to Title 5, Division 3, commencing
with Section 56000 of the Government Code, to provide services to
the area described in the formation documents;
and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission has determined
the area involved (generally located south of Highway 58 and east
and west of Oswell Street) is within the Sphere of Influence of
the City of Bakersfield and has notified the City of Bakersfield,
in writing, pursuant to Section 56841(h) of the Cortese-Knox
Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985, and Local Agency
Formation Commission: Procedures, Standards and Policies for the
Evaluation of Proposals;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield has established a policy to
provide services to areas within the Sphere of Influence upon
annexation of such areas to the City of Bakersfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Bakersfield that the Council opposes formation of said
County Service Area and declares and represents that the City of
Bakersfield intends to provide the services proposed to be pro-
vided by the C.S.A. upon annexation of that area to the City.
This resolution onstltutes the City's response. The City Clerk
is hereby directed to transmit a certified copy of this resolu-
tion to the executive office of the Local Agency Formation
Commission of the County of Kern.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 29th day of October 19 86 by the
