A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF PORTIONS
OF SONORA STREET, ALPINE STREET, INYO STREET,
BUTTE STREET AND CHICO STREET ADJACENT TO
BLOCKS 226, 240, 241, 243, AND 244 AND THE
ALLEY IN BLOCK 241 OF KERN DIVISION IN THE
CITY OF 8AKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, on the 24th day of September, 1986, the Council
of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of'the
"Public Streets, Highways and Service Easements Vacation Law",
being Chapter 3 of Part 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California, passed and adopted its
Resolution of Intention No. 1014 declaring its intention to order
the vacation of portions of Sonora Street, Alpine Street, Inyo
Street, Butte Street and Chico Street adjacent to Blocks 226,
240, 241, 243, and 244 and the alley in Block 241 of Kern
Division in the City of Bakersfield, California; and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hear-
ing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vaca-
tion, which said hearing was held on the 29th day of October,
1986, after notices were duly published and posted as required by
law; and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter,
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. That portions of Sonora Street, Alpine Street, Inyo
Street, Butte Street and Chico Street adjacent to Blocks 226,
240, 241, 243, and 244 and the alley in Block 241 of Kern
Division in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of
California, more particularly described in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto and made a part hereof, are unnecessary for present or pro-
spective public street purposes.
2. That portions of Sonora Street, Alpine Street, Inyo
Street, Butte Street and Chico Street adjacent to Blocks 226,
240, 241, 243, and 244 and the alley in Block 241 of Kern
Division be and the same are hereby closed up, vacated and aban-
doned for public street purposes upon issuance by the City
Building Director of a Certificate of Occupancy for the Kern
County Welfare Facility to be built on adjacent property, subject
to and in conformity with the following recommendations:
Public utility easements to be reserved
for all remaining and relocated utilities
within the area to be vacated; and
Easements to be reserved for any remain-
ing or relocated public sewer lines,
storm drain lines or drainage retention
basins within the are to be vacated.
Reference to said Resolution of Intention is hereby made for fur-
ther particulars.
3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
· this Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested
by the Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded in the
office of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1014
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELH DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER
THE VACATION OF PORTIONS OF SONORA STREET,
ALPINE STREET, INYO STREET, BUTTE STREET AND
CHICO STREET ADJACENT TO BLOCKS 226, 240,
241, 243, AND 244 AND THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 241
OF KERN DIVISION IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
The Council of the City of Bakersfield, California,
hereby resolves as follows:
SECTION l: That is the intention of the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, California to order the vacation of portions
of Sonora Street, Alpine Street, Inyo Street, Butte Street and
chico Street adjacent to Blocks 226, 240, 241, 243, and 244 and
the alley in Block 241 of Kern Division in the City of
Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, more particu-
larly described in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and made a part
hereof, with the following recommendations:
Public utility easements to be reserved
for all remaining and relocated utilities
within the area to be vacated; and
Easements to be reserved for any remaining
or relocated public sewer lines, storm
drain lines or drainage retention basins
within the area to be vacated.
The Council of said City hereby elects to proceed under the pro-
visions of Chapter 3 of Part 3 of Division 9 of the California
Streets and Highways Code ("the Public Streets, Highways, and
Service Easements Vacation Law").
For further particulars as to the proposed vacation,
reference is hereby made to a map on file in the office of the
City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, City Hall, 1501 Truxtun
Avenue, Bakersfield, California.
Section 2: That the hour of 7 p.m. on the 29th day of
October, 1986, in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, 1501 Truxtun
Avenue, Bakersfield, California, be and the same is hereby fixed
as the time and place when and where all persons interested in or
objecting to the proposed vacation may appear before the City
Council and be heard~.
SECTION 3: That the City Clerk shall cause notice of
the date, hour and place of hearing on this resolution to be pub-
lished for two successive weeks prior thereto in the Bakersfield
Californian and the Superintendent of Streets of the City of
Bakersfield, California, shall cause "Notice of Street Vacation"
to be posted as required by Section 8323 of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this resolution and shall cause the same to be Dosted on the
bulletin board at the City ~all, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, in the City
of Bakersfield, California, within fifteen (15) days after its
passage.

Six (6) parcels of land situated in the Kern Division, of the City of
Bakersfield, in Section 29, T.29S., R.28E., M.D.B.&M., Kern County, California,
more particularly described as follows:
PARCEL i
SONORA STREET (full right of way width) from the east line of Union Avenue to
the south line of Alpine Street; and also the. east 10 feet of Sonora Street from
the south line of Alpine Street to the north line of the south 20.00 feet of
Butte Street.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM and reserving as an easement for public utilities that 10
foot wide portion of said parcel 1 north of the south line of Alpine Street;

PARCEL 2
INYO STREET (full right of way width) from the south line of north 20 feet of
~ Street to the north line of the south 20 feet of Butte Street; and also the
east 20 feet of Inyo Street from the north line of the south 20 feet of Butte
Street to the north line of the south 16 feet of Chico Street; and also the west
16 feet of Inyo Street from the north line of California Avenue to the south
line of the north 20 feet of Alpine Street.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM and reserving as an easement for public utilities the east
20 feet of said parcel 2 north of the south line of the north 20 feet of Alpine
Street; and also the easterly projection of the 20 foot wide alley in Block 241
to the east line of said parcel 2.
ALSO EXCEPTING THEREFROM and reserving as an easement for a public sewer line
the westerly projection of the 20 foot wide alley in Block 226 to the west line
of said parcel 2.
PARCEL 3
ALPINE STREET (full right of way width) from the west line of the eat 10 feet of
Sonora Street to the east line of the west 16 feet of Inyo Street; and also the
north 20 feet of Alpine Street from the east line of the west 16 feet of Inyo
Street to the west line of Tulare Street.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM and reserving as an easement for public utilities the north
20 feet of said parcel 3.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM and reserving that easement described in parcel 1.
PARCEL 4
BUTTE STREET (full right of way width) from the west line of the east 20 feet of
Inyo Street to the west line of Tulare Street; and also the south 20 feet of
Butte Street from the west line of the east 10 feet of Sonora Street to the wst
line of the east 20 feet of Inyo Street.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM and reserving those easements described in parcels 1 and 2.
PARCEL 5
The south 16 feet of CHICO STREET from the west line of the east 20 feet of Inyo
Street to the west line of Tulare Street.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM and reserving that easement described in parcel 2.
PARCEL 6
All of that 20 foot wide alley in Block 241. 'EXCEPTING THEREFROM and reserving
as an easement for public utilities all of said alley.
