HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 148-86RESOLUTION NO. 148-86 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD APPROVING THE APPLICATION AND THE PROJECT AGREEMENT FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION GRANT FUNDS FOR THE BAKER STREET LIBRARY RESTORATION PROJECT FROM THE CALIFORNIA PARK AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES ACT OF 1984. WHEREAS, the Legislature under the California Park and Recreational Act of 1984 has authorized the establishment of a Historic Preservation Grant Program, providing matching funds to the political subdivisions of the State for historic preservation projects; and WHEREAS, the California Office of Historic Preservation in the Department of Parks and Recreation is responsible for the administration of the program within the State, setting up neces- sary rules and procedures governing application by local agencies under the program; and WHEREAS, said adopted procedures established by the Department of Parks and Recreation require the applicant to cer- tify by resolution the approval of applications and the availa- bility of local matching funds prior to submission of said applications to the State; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield that hereby: 1. Approves the filing of an application for the Historic Preservation Grant Assistance Project; and Appoints the City Manager or his agent of the City of Bakersfield dinate, process, and execute all authorized deputy as City Council to coor- contracts, agreements, amendments and ancillary documents within the scope of the attached application; and 3. Agrees that all required local matching funds will be provided for the project.
