A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD DECLARING ITS MEMBERSHIP IN THE
AUTHORITY FOR CALIFORNIA CITIES EXCESS
LIABILITY.
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield, along with other municipali-
ties, has been unable to purchase excess liability insurance; and
WHEREAS, these municipalities have determined there is a need
for self-funding a system for excess liability and desire to combine
their respective efforts to establish, operate, and maintain a Joint
Powers Authority for self-funding of excess liability; and
WHEREAS, California Government Code Section 6500 et seq.
authorizes joint exercise by two or more public agencies of any power
common to them.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
The City Council of the City of Bakersfield hereby declares its
membership in the Authority for California Cities Excess Liability, and
authorizes the Mayor to execute agreements and other required documents
and authorize the expenditure of the participation assessment.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 2nd day of July , 1986, by the following
