A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD IDENTIFIED AS PROCEEDING NO. 884,
ANNEXATION NO. 305, IN ACCORDANCE WITH LAFCO
RESOLUTION MAKING DETERMINATION (CURRAN NO. 3).
WHEREAS, a proposal was submitted to the Local Agency
Formation Commission of Kern County ("Commission") for the annex-
ation of territory to the city of Bakersfield designated as
Annexation No. 305 (CURRAN NO. 3); and
WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing upon said pro-
posal was held before the Commission on the 14th day of
January, 1986, and continued to the 28th day of January, 1986; and
WHEREAS, following said public hearing the Commission,
on January 28, 1986, adopted its Resolution Making Determination,
being Resolution No. 86-3, recorded in Minute Book 32 of said
Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
1. Preliminary proceedings for annexation of territory
to the City of Bakersfield designated as Annexation No. 305
(CURRAN NO. 3) were authorized by the city Council of the City of
Bakersfield by action at ~ regular meeting thereof held[ on
September 11, 1985; Application for Annexation dated
September 13, 1985, was transmitted to LAFCO; the Certificate of
Filing of the Executive Officer of the Commission shows that the
proposal was filed by him on the 10th day of December, 1985.
2. The distinctive short form designation assigned by
the Commission to the territory proposed to be annexed is: "city
of Bakersfield Annexation No. 305 (CURRAN NO. 3)."
3. The description of the exterior boundaries of the
territory proposed to be annexed is contained in Exhibit "A",
attached hereto, and incorporated in this Resolution as though
fully set forth herein.
4. The territory proposed to be annexed is
inhabited as determined by the Commission in its Resolution
Making Determination.
5. The reasons for the proposed annexation as set forth
in the proposal thereof submitted to the Commission are that the
owners of the affected territory desire to receive, and in some
instances already are receiving, municipal services from the City
of Bakersfield and the City desires to receive tax revenues for
benefits given and to be given to the territory proposed to be
annexed.
6. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Wednesday, the 2nd day
of April, 1986, at the hour of 7 p.m. (or as soon thereafter
as the matter may be heard) in the Council Chambers of the City
Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, ~akersfield, California, is hereby
fixed as the time, date and place of hearing on the proposed
annexation where any owner of land within, or any registered
voter residing within, the said described territory may appear
before the Council of the city of Bakersfield and show cause why
such territory should not be annexed. ~ny owner of land within,
or any registered voter residing within, the described territory
may file a written protest against the annexation with the City
Clerk of the city of Bakersfield at 1501 Truxtun Avenue at any
time prior to the conclusion of the hearing on the proposed
annexation.
7. That the Negative Declaration as to this project
having previously been approved by LAFCO (the lead agency) is
hereby adopted and approved by the City of Bakersfield. The pro-
ject will not have a significant effect on the environment.
8. The land and improvements within the territory to be
annexed shall be liable for the general indebtedness of! the City
existing at the time of annexation.
9. A certified copy of this Resolution shall forthwith
be transmitted to the Executive Director of LAFCO.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 19th day of February ,

CURRAN NO. 3
A parcel of land situated in tile County of Kern, State of Califoroia,
being a portion of Section 35, Township 29 South, Range 27 East and
Section 2 Township 30 South, Range 27 East, M.D.B. & M., more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the north line of tile sooth 60 feet
of said Section 35 with the west line of tile east 30 feet of said
Section 35, said point beiog a point on tile existing corporate
boundary of tile City of Bakersfield and the Point of Beginning
for this description;
Tbence (1) Departing from the last nmned exi§ting corporate boundary
southerly along the west line of the east 3{) feet of said Section 35,
and the west line of the east 30 feet of said Section 2 to a point
on the westerly extension of the north line of Parcel blap 6617
recorded Hay 27, 1983, in Parcel Map Book 29 at Page 131 in tile
Office of tile Kern County Recorder, said point being a point on
the existing corporate boundary;
Thence (2) Southerly, Westerly, Northerly and Easterly along tile
last named corporate boundary to the Point of Beginning.
