A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD APPROVING THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDER-
STANDING SETTING SALARIES AND RELATED BENEFITS
FOR OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE BLUE AND
WHITE COLLAR UNITS OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, the Charter o£ the City of Bakersfield,
Section 12, authorizes the City Council to provide ~or salaries
and related benetits tor otticers and employees of the City; and
WHEREAS, in compliance with the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act
oS the State ot California, the City has met and conferred in
good faith with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU),
which represents this City's Blue and White Collar Unit
employees; and
WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding entered between
the City of Bakersfield and the SEIU Blue and White Collar Units
on January 21, 19~5, provided that salaries for said units would
be renegotiated for calendar year 1986; and
WHEREAS, the City's negotiator and the $EIU have agreed
upon salaries and benefits for said units; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the
salaries and related benefits as agreed upon by the City's nego-
tiator and the SEIU are acceptable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council oS the
City of Bakersfield that on January 6, 19~6, the attached salary
schedule covering Blue and White Collar Units shall constitute
the salary schedule and related benefits tor officers and
employees for the categories and positions specitied therein, and
that, additionally, on July '7, 1986, this schedule will be
increased by 3% for all salaries and benefits included therein,
and that the whole o~ said attachment is hereby incorporated and
approved as a part o~ the Memorandum o~ Understanding previously
adopted between the City o~ Bakersfield and the SEIU for Blue and
White Collar Units.
