A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER AGREEMENTS FOR RENTAL OF CITY PROPERTY
FOR A DURATION OF LESS THAN 60 DAYS.
WHEREAS, individuals and businesses on occasion request
rental of city-owned property; and
WHEREAS, the City's assistance to these individuals and
businesses best serves the community; and
WHEREAS, the individuals and businesses are willing to
pay a fair market rental rate; and
WHEREAS, the rental of such property will not interfere
with the operation of City business; and
WHEREAS, authorizing the city Manager to enter
short-term rental agreements alleviates the necessity of
burdensome procedures requiring City Council approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
city of Bakersfield that the City Manager is hereby authorized to
enter into agreements with individuals and businesses for the
rental of city property when the City Manager deems such
agreement to be in the best interests of the City; when it will
not interfere with the operation of city services; when adequate
protection for liability has been provided; and when the rental
is of a duration of less than sixty (60) days.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager shall sub-
mit a written report to the city Council regarding the provisions
of any such agreement entered into as herein provided.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 5th day of March , 1986 , by the
