HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 32-86RESOLUTION NO. q2-86 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF T~E CITY OF BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF JACKSON STREET WEST OF TULARE STREET IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD. WHEREAS, on the 5th day of March, 1986, the Council of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the "Public Streets, Highways and Service Easements Vacation Law", being Chapter 3 of Part 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, passed and adopted its Resolution of Intention No. 998 declaring its intention to order the vacation of a portion of Jackson Street west of Tulare Street in the City of Bakersfield, California; and WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hear- ing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vaca- tion, which said hearing was held on the 16th day of April, 1986, after notices were duly published and posted as required by law; and WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter, does hereby find and resolve as follows: 1. That a portion of Jackson Street west of Tulare Street in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, more particularly described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof, is unnecessary for present or pro- spective public street purposes. 2. That a portion of Jackson Street west of Tulare Street be and the same is hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes, subject to and in conformity with any reservations and exceptions contained in and contemplated by said Resolution of Intention No. 998. Reference contemplated by said Resolution of Intention is hereby made for further particulars. 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested by the Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California. ........... 000 .......... I the passed and adopted by the Council of regular meeting thereof held on the 1986, by the following vote: HEREBY CERTIFY that foregoing Resolution was the City of Bakersfield at a 16th day of April , CITY CLERK and Ex Officio Clerk of the Council of the City of Bakersfield APPROVED this 16th day of April , 1986 MAYOR o~ the City of Ba~fersfield APPROVED as to form: CITY ATTORNEY 6f the City of Bakersfield bl 5 RI998-O 2 VACATING A PORTION OF JACKSON STREET WEST O~ TULARE STREET EXHIBIT "A" A parcel of land situated in the northwest 1/4 Of section 29, Township 29 South, Range 28 East, M.D.M., in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California more particularly described as follows: Commen~ing at the northeast corner of lot 32 as shown on the map of the Eastern division to the City of Bakersfield formerly known as the Town of Kern on file in the Office of the Kern County Recorder; Thence southwesterly aloag the east lot llne of said lot 32, also being the west right of way llne of Tulare Street, 146.60 feet to a point on a 16,988.74 foot radius curve, concave to the northeast, from which point the center bears N.01°08'47" E. of said Tulare Street west line, said point being on the north line of Jackson Street and the True Point of Beginning; Thence north~eesterly along said curve and north line through a central angle of 0°25'18" a distance of 125.03 feet to a point on the west llne of lot 28 of said map of the Eastern division to the City of Bakersfield; Thence south along the southwesterly exteusion of said lot 28 west line 80.02 feet to a point on a 17,068.74 foot radius curve, concave to the northeast, from which point the cen- ter bears N.01°33'38.7"E. of said lot 28 southwesterly extension, said point be{~g on the south line of Jackson Street; Thence southeasterly along said curve and south line through a central angle of 0°25'10.9" a distance of 125.03 feet to a point on the southwesterly extension of the east line of said lot 32; Thence northeasterly along said southwesterly. extension line a distance of 80.02 feet to the True Point of Beginning.
