A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD MAKING FINDINGS REGARDING VALUE
OF WRITTEN PROTESTS FILED AND NOT WITHDRAWN,
AND TERMINATING PROCEEDING NO. 887,
ANNEXATION NO. 306 (CASTRO NO. 4).
WHEREAS, Resolution of Application No. 151-85, dated
October 16, 1985, was submitted to the Local Agency Formation
Commission of Kern County ("Commission") for the annexation of
territory to the City of Bakersfield designated as Proceeding
No. 887, Annexation No. 306 (CASTRO NO. 4); and
WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing upon said pro-
posal was held before the Co~nission on the 25th day of February,
1986, and continued to the 11th day of March, 1986; and
WHEREAS, following said public hearing, the Commission,
on March ll, 1986, adopted its Resolution Making Determination,
being Resolution No. 86-7, recorded
Commission; and
WHEREAS, on April 2, 1986,
in Minute Book 32 of said
the Council of the City
of Bakersfield adopted its Resolution No. 28-86 initiating pro-
ceedings for annexation of the said territory to the City of
Bakersfield and setting Wednesday, the 7th day of May, 1986,
at the hour of 7 p.m. (or as soon thereafter as the matter
could be heard) in the Council Chambers of the City Hall,
1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, as the time, date
and place of hearing on the proposed annexation and the owners of
land within the said territory were duly informed of their right
to file written protests against the annexation with the City
Clerk at any time prior to the conclusion of the hearing on the
proposed annexation; and
WHEREAS, the public hearing was duly and regularly con-
ducted by and before the City Council at its meeting of
May 7, 1986, in all respects in accordance with Resolution
No. 28-86.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED by the
Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows:
1. In accordance with Section 35228 of the Government
Code, it is hereby found that written protests were filed and not
withdrawn by 51.4% of the registered voters within the territory.
2. That Proceeding No. 887, Annexation No. 306
(CASTRO NO. 4), is hereby ordered terminated.
3. That the Clerk shall forthwith transmit a certified
copy of this resolution terminating proceedings to the executive
officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission of Kern County.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 21st day of May ,

ANNEXATION NO. 306
CASTRO NO. 4
A parcel of land situated in the County of Kern, State of California, being a
portion of Sections 35 and 36, Township 29 South, Range 27 East ~nd Sections I
and 2, Township 30 South, Range 27 East, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the west line of the East (30) feet of said
Section 2 with the westerly prolongation of the North line of Parcel Map No.
6617, recorded May 27, 1983, in Parcel Map Book 29 at page 131 in the Office
of the Kern County recorder,.said point being a point on the existing corporate
boundary of the City of Bakersfield and the point of beginning for this description;
Thence (I) departing from the last named existing corporate boundary northerly along
the West line of the East (30) feet of said Section 2 and the ~qest line of the East
(30) feet of said Section 35 to intersect with the North line of the South (60)
feet of said Section 35, said point being a point on the existing corporate
boundary.
