Leak Threshold: 0.093 gph. A system should not be declared tight if the test result indicates a loss or gain that equals or exceeds this threshold. Applicability: Gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel, and solvents. Tank Capacity: Maximum of 15,000 gallons. Tank must be between 50 and 95% full. Waiting Time: Minimum of 8 hours, 18 minutes between delivery and testing. Minimum of30 minutes between dispensing and testing. There must be no delivery during waiting time. Test Period: . Minimum of2 hours. Test data are acquired and recorded by the system's computer. Leak rate is calculated from the difference between the fIrst and last data collected. There must be no dispensing during test. Temperature: Average for product is determined by a minimum of 5 thennistors. ( Water Sensor: Must be used to detect water ingress. Minimum detectable water level in the tank is 0.544 inch. Minimum detectable change in water level is 0.027 inch. Calibration: Thermistors and probe must be checked and calibrated in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Comments; Not evaluated using manifold tank systems. Tests only portion of tank containing product. As product level is lowered, leak rate in a leaking tank decreases (due to lower head pressure), Consistent testing at low levels could allow a leak to remain undetected. EP A leak detection regulations require testing of the portion of the tank system which routinely contains product California regulations require at least one test per month after routine product delivery or wh~n the tank is fUled to within 10% of the highest operating level during the previous month. The following parameters were determined: · Detection Accuracy· The measure of sensor response to the presence of liquids. · Response Time· Amount of time the detector must be exposed to liquid before it responds. · Recovery Time· Amount of time that passes before the detector returns to its baseline reading after the test liquid is removed. · Lower Detection Umit - The smallest liquid concentration that the detector can reliably detect. · Product Activation Height - The height of liquid to cause sensor activation. · Specificity - Indicates the level of response, of the detector, to several different liquids. If you are concerned . , about the effects fuel storage has on your bottom line, look at the advantages of Aboveground Fire-Protected Storage Tanks. ...'. Our Hoover Vault Tanks meet the requirements of all national fire codes for fire-rated aboveground storage tanks and are labeled according to Underwriter's Laboratories Standard 2085 "Prot~cted Secondary Contíiinment". Containment Solutions provides Vault Tanks in eithèr rectangular or cylindrical designs. Rectangular Hoover Vault Tanks . . Hoover Vault Tanks utilize patented designs with lightweight fireproofing materials, applied in the interstitial space of UL 142 double- wall tanks. These materials ensure that the inner tank is protected from the effects of fire. This design allows both the inner and the outer tanks to be pressure tested at the factory and in the field. In addition, the fireproofing materials allo~ liquid to migrate through to the monitoring tube, so leaks from the inner tank are detected. Rectangular vault tanks are space-saving in design. Veeder-Root's TLS Òverfill Alarm provides an early warning of potential tank bulk delivery overfills as required by the Federal regulations governing underground storage tanks. Wired to an alarm relay in a TL5-350R. TLS -350. TLS-300. TLS-300i, and TLS-250 or TLS-25Oi System, the alarm relay activates the TLS overfill alarm horn and light when a potential overfill is detected. Our products offer the following features and benefits: The Veeder-Root Interstitial Sensor for use in Steel Tanks . , detects the presence of.liquid in the interstitial space of a double-wall steel tank. Liquid in the annulus could mean a dangerous leak. Wj1en liquid is detected, the sensor sends an alarm signal to a TL5-350R, TLS-350. ILS-350. TLS-300i, or TLS-300C monitor. The monitor's visual and audible built-in alarm indicators immediately tell you where the problem is, so you can quickly take action to help prevent serious safety and . environmental problems. The TLs-350R, TLS-350¡ ILS-350, TLS-300i, TLS-300C, TLS-250i, and ILS-250 systems feature internal alarm relays that can also trigger on -site alarms for even greater warning capability. The TLS-350R, TLS-350, TLS-300i, and TLS-300Calarm signals from the sensor triggers a report showing the time and the location of the alarm condition. This information is stored in the system's alarm history and can be retrieved through the monitor's integral printer or remotely through its data communications interface. The Veeder-Root Interstitial·Sensor:1or Steel Tanks can used in the annulus of steel tanks with a sensor riser pipe 1.5" I.D. or greater.
