Hello Friends:
With January 1, 2005 right around the corner, I would like to clarify and
answer as many questions as I can regarding the above-mentioned.
requirements. First off, these procedures apply to customers within the city
limits only. If you are in the county or another jurisdiction, please check with
the regulators in that area.
Many of you have just recently taken your ICC Designated Owner/Operator
test. You will not have your certificate for 4-6 weeks. All of you who attended
the workshop on November 2, 2004 received a packet that contained a city of
Bakersfield Fire Department Declaration Form. For your convenience I am
enclosing another.
Please do not submit your declaration until you have received your permanent
ICC Card Number. When submitting your declaration statement please photo
copy your card and attach it to each declaration statement.
PROCEDURES FOR ENFORCEMENT
This office will start sending out Notices of Violation on January 15, 2005.
This will give them 30 days to comply. On February 15, 2005, we will take
additional enforcement action which could include Administrative Enforcement
Action, Revocation of Permit to Operate.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. Do I have to use City of Bakersfield forms?
A. Yes, but would accept generic form for an interim period.
Q. Should I submit Designated Owner/Operator statement if I do not
have my ICC Certificate?
A. No. Please do not submit statement until you have your
certificate number and attach a copy.

Q. Can I submit a faxed copy of Designated Owner/Operator Statement.?
A. Yes, as long as ICC Certificate is attached or sent with statement.
