Your tanks have been out of service since October 15, 2001. This office has granted several extensions so that you could make application and get on the clean up list. We understand that your application has been accepted. You are now required to either remove your underground storage tanks or put them back into service. Should you plan to put the tanks back into service, you must make the necessary upgrades to comply with current code requirements. These are as follows: 1) You must install under-dispenser containment (UDC's) on all fuel pumps. 2) You must install turbine sumps to protect the environment from any future turbine leaks. 3) By April 1, 2005 you must install new fill buckets to conform to A.P.C.D. requirements. 4) You are required to install an outside emergency shut-off device. (Push-pull type.) To avoid further enforcement action, you must either remove the tanks or make the necessary upgrades prior to February 1, 2005.
